Strong Rookie of the Year candidate leads ‘AZ to first WS in 22 years since Byung-hyun Kim’ but… “Bae Ji-hwan is No. 1 in speed from home to first base”

“Only Bae Ji-hwan (24) was faster than Carroll in speed from home to first base.”

Corbin Carroll started at second base and went 3-for-4 with a home run, two RBIs and two runs scored in Game 7 of the National League Championship Series (NLCS) of the 2023 Major League Baseball postseason against the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S., on May 25. Arizona is making its first World Series appearance in 22 years behind Carroll’s performance.

Carroll got on base in his first at-bat. In the top of the first inning, he took a two-pitch low sinker from Philadelphia starter Ranger Suarez for an infield hit. He advanced to third on Gabriel Moreno’s single and came home on Christian Walker’s grounder.

With the score tied 1-1 in the top of the third inning, Carroll drove a three-pitch body curveball from Suarez into left field for his first multi-hit game in just two at-bats. After stealing first base, Carroll put herself in scoring position with a stolen base, but was stranded on second base.

He was also strong in scoring position. In the top of the fifth inning, with the team trailing 1-2, she tied the game with a single with two outs, stole second and scored to give the team the lead. In the top of the seventh inning, with runners on first and second and one out, he hit a sacrifice fly to load the bases.

After striking out in his final at-bat, Carroll went 3-for-4 with a home run, two RBIs and two runs scored to lead Arizona to its first World Series appearance since the Byung-Hyun Kim era. He also stole two bases and rattled the Philadelphia mound with his quick feet.

In his big league debut last season, Carroll showed promise, batting .260 (27-for-104) with four home runs, 14 RBI, 13 runs scored and two doubles in 32 games. He had his best season in his first full season this year, batting .285 (565-for-161) with 25 home runs, 76 RBI, 116 runs scored and 54 stolen bases in 155 games.

He’s a strong local favorite for Rookie of the Year, and in just his second season, he’s been unbelievable, reaching the postseason and leading his team to the World Series. 스포츠토토

“Carroll has always been a consistent performer, always looking for extra bases,” the American ‘defector’ said on June 26. ”He destroyed the Milwaukee Brewers in the Wild Card Series and stayed hot in the Division Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.”

Despite Carroll’s bullet speed, another player was faster from home to first base. That player was Bae Ji-hwan of the Pittsburgh Pirates. Carroll had more stolen bases than Bae, but he couldn’t get from home to first base as fast as Bae.

“Carroll’s 4.08-second time from home to first base makes him a nightmare for hitters,” says Defektor. Only Bae was faster than Carroll.” Bae’s speed is palpable.

Carroll was a strong Rookie of the Year candidate who led his team to the World Series. He’ll have to grit his teeth to match the speed of fellow second-year rookie Bae Ji-hwan.
