‘Unfinished 32-year-old slugger’ Moon Sang-cheol (KT) hit a home run in his fall baseball debut against monster pitcher Eric Peddy (NC).

Moon hit a home run in his first at-bat as the No. 7 designated hitter in the first game of the best-of-five playoff series against NC in the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO Postseason at KT Wiz Park in Suwon on Sept. 30.안전놀이터

Moon Sang-chul came up to bat in the top of the third inning, trailing 0-4, and hit a solo home run off NC ace Pedi, who was perfect through two innings. On a favorable 3B-1S count, Moon lined an outside pitch from Peddy for a 115-meter home run. It was his first career postseason home run.

Moon took over the starting role in the first game of the playoffs due to the unexpected departure of Kang Baek-ho. Manager Lee Kang-cheol said, “I’m counting on Moon Sang-chul, who has one hit,” and Moon lived up to his expectations from his first at-bat.

KT took a 1-4 lead over NC with Moon’s home run. After starter William Cuevas gave up four runs, the mood was down, but Moon delivered a valuable blast.
